In the midst of disease...

In the middle of disease-ridden people, I have been attempting to find humor in the simple things. Amelia and Peryn are both sick with, what we suspect to be, the pig flu. The worse part? Peryn was just getting over chickenpox which she contracted just a day before Halloween. Saturday night (yes, Halloween) at bedtime both kids had fevers and that's been my life since. While sick, Amelia has been exceptionally whiny- understandably so. Every word is in a whiny voice but somehow it can makes things HILARIOUS. Here are a few things she has said:

Amelia: Mommy, I tooted.
Me: Thanks for sharing.
Amelia:(WHINE) Mommy, I TOOTED.
Me: Uh, Amelia... did you poop in your panties?
Amelia: eh-noooo (this is how she's said no in her whiny voice over the last few days). I TOOTED! (She follows this statement by turning to leave and grabbing her bum)
"NEVER TRUST A FART"- Kevin's lesson of the day

10pm at night, from the hallway- imagine the whine
Amelia: Mommy?
Me: What Amelia.
Amelia: Mommy?
Me: What do you need Amelia?
Amelia: Mommy, I'm siiiick.

Amelia: Mommy?
Me: yes?
Amelia: Mommy?
Me: yeees?
Amelia: I want Daddy come home safely.

The latest, cutest, most depressing, heart wrenching statement?
"Mommy? I need Daddy."

Poor Amelia.

Peryn was much sicker a day or two ago. She doesn't talk though so this post was dedicated to Amelia. It is still pretty adorable when she does anything with her little, miserable chubby-cheeked face. Any expression is pretty entertaining. I will leave you with one of them.

UPDATE: I just had a conversation that went like this...

Amelia: Mommy I have to go potty.
Me: Ok. (I was working so I took a minute to get up and she left the office.)
Me: Ok. Let's go potty.
Amelia (sitting at the laptop): I'm working!
Me: Let's go potty.
Amelia: *sigh*
Me: Let's go POTTY! You said you needed to go.
Amelia: Go play with toys.

I think I have a mime.

My favorite was when she turned to you last night and said
"Mommy, I want Daddy's hand!"
she wanted to hold my hand while she fell asleep. I think that was about the time she only slept for 6 minutes.

I really hope you guys are finally feeling better! Pretty crappy week for ya. But I love the shart - hey, the reason we have kids is to have a good laugh once in a while, right? That is so cute how Amelia is such a daddy's girl. And Porter still will sometimes say to me that he is busy working or doing his job.

OH I feel your pain.......Erika was a whining machine today! except she only has about 10 words ....so listening to the same things over and over again....in the whiny voice, GETS OLD. ....sigh...I feel so bad for them..it sucks.
Peryn's face is adorable by the way.

Sorry your kids are sick. That has got to be not so fun. I hope it's not the swine flu. Are they throwing up? My throat has been hurting for the past 4 days. And it's killing me! Because I want to go see Jenna, and they won't let me into the hospital. Ugh. Being sick stinks.
